Camp Impact counselors range from high school freshmen to graduating seniors. Each counselor is selected through an application process in which he or she answers questions regarding their personal experiences in caring for young children.
Our counselors have the opportunity to dedicate themselves to affect change in the lives of the children they serve. The energy and eagerness of the campers coupled with the reality of their upbringings creates a physically and emotionally exhausting week, for campers and counselors alike. You will go to bed late, you will wake up early, dance until your legs feel like Jello, sing until your voice is raspy and give each camper your all every single day. On the last day of camp, when your campers say they never want to leave, you will know you have genuinely impacted their lives in a positive way. Though you will encounter highs and lows, Camp Impact is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding and valuable experiences you will ever have. You will forever remember the laughs, friendships and memories made in that week.
Every summer we host more than 100 campers from 1st through 6th grade. Our campers are referred to us by social workers from local shelters such as SafeHaven of Tarrant County, The Arlington Life Shelter, Brighter Tomorrows, and Title 1 elementary schools like Webb and Bonham Elementary.
Camp Impact would not be possible without support from our volunteers. From driving vans to prepping meals, our volunteers are the backbone of camp. We could never have too many helping hands! If you are interested in volunteering we would love to have you.
